The Scandinavia update features a comprehensive rework, updating textures, and fuel stations. The changes include:

  • A more realistic look is added due to vegetation, updated textures, and environmental assets.
  • The old prefab junctions have been replaced to custom-designed intersections, and the road network is overhauled. 
  • Improved traffic flow adds realism due to Denmark’s motorways and Sweden’s major corridors.
  • Addition of new cities; Aarhus (Denmark) and Karlsted (Sweden).
  • Copenhagen Rebuilding covering up updated infrastructure, landmarks, and a refreshed map layout providing the capital a more modern and cool look.
  • New rest stops and improved amenities scattered across the region.

This time driving across Scandinavia feels more immersive and contemporary providing the fans a major refresh.

HDR Support and Visual Improvements

The most anticipated update for the ETS 2 fans is perhaps the addition of HDR support with compatible monitors or TV  monitors. The HDR support offers the following key improvements;

  • Color Richness, Contrast, and Lightening
  • Pop up Sunrises, Nighttime hauls, and Scenic Landscapes

This time players get a better customization due to reworked company logos with improved paint jobs and trailer suspension heights. With the cursor navigation, players will see enhancements  for smooth menu interactions.

New Gameplay Features ETS 2 1.57 Update

  • Dynamic Cargo Loading and Unloading – This is for the first time in ETS 2 where the trailers get dynamic loading and unloading animations at select depots.  Another step forward in immersion has hauling logs, large tubes, or iron pipes now involves reel loading.
  • Truck Upgrades – The iconic Scania R-series and Scania S-series receive new “SUPER” engine options (420–560 hp), powerful V8 powertrains (590, 660, 770 hp), updated transmissions, and new “Smart Dash” interiors. On the outside: new paint jobs, “SUPER” badges, and customization options.
  • DLC Content Updates – Owners of the special DLC transport and Krone Trailer pack get new cargoes including massive loads like a 30-meter wind turbine blade
